Well Ted Kennedy I think served a two year hitch back in the 1950’s although I don't think that qualifies for Arlington. He got there only because of JFK and RFK, no other reason and he should not have been buried there.
McCain by normal measures isn't eligible for the Naval Academy either. He had to get a special dispensation from the Secretary of the Navy for this.
Lot of brave me buried at the academy, not sure McCain should there. What is telling and raises questions is why would McCain not want to be buried at Arlington with his Father and Grandfather????????????????

.What is telling and raises questions is why would McCain not want to be buried at Arlington with his Father and Grandfather?" Hadn't thought of that. Possibly because he couldn't get in for some reason?

Sigh. I have less issue with McCain being buried at Annapolis than I do with Kennedy at Arlington.
McCain may have not been a good pilot, he may or may not have conducted himself appropriately as a POW, but he was a POW, and he did serve.
Personally, his conduct as a Senator is a black mark against him, but...rules are rules I guess.
