All part of the propaganda machine. McCain defied Trump. He must be deified. I mean, how may senators have received this kind of treatment? He was a senator, and served his country. It’s going on a freakin’ week already.

That's my question too. This funeral was more like a Presidential funeral than any previous Senator's I can think of. Love or hate Mcain (I'm in the latter camp), the fact that his funeral was so politicized is disgraceful.
Every Senator and Congressperson who dies while still serving, should be granted the honor of flags at half mast and a state funeral and national TV coverage. Precedent has been set.
