Meghan McCain tore into an absent President Trump at a memorial service for her father, Arizona Sen. John McCain, in Washington on Saturday.
“We gather here to mourn the passing of American greatness,” McCain, a co-host of “The View,” said at the National Cathedral. “The real thing, not cheap rhetoric from men who will never come near the sacrifice he gave so willingly, nor the opportunistic appropriation of those who lived lives of comfort and privilege.”
“He was a great fire who burned bright,” she said in a speech punctuated by sobbing. “A few have resented that fire… but my father never cared what they thought.
“The America of John McCain does not need to be made great again, because America was always great.”

More seriously, in the TV commentator gigs she's gotten do to her lineage, she sometimes sounds sensible to me, on issues which don't impinge directly on her father's hot buttons or actions. But, I have no doubt that, given the "McCain Seat", she'd follow all of his crazy immigration and anti-Trump lines.
Let's see what Ducey does next week. If, after Trump's endorsement, he appoints her or some other RINO squish, I hope the earth opens up and swallows his political career.

I just had a thought. Wonder if this bitterness is a result of Trump endorsing Ducey in the primaries in exchange for Ducey pledging not to appoint either McCain to the senate seat. They held out all this time only to get screwed out of their perceived “legacy” in the end.
So it was nothing but a Trump bashing event. I’m glad I haven’t watched a minute of it. I did catch a few seconds of Obama speaking at the funeral and he looked like he was enjoying feeding his ego.
We were hoping for a full blown Wellstoning of this operation..
