A memorial service for Sen. John McCain is taking place in Washington Saturday. Former President George W. Bush and former President Barack Obama are giving eulogies at the service at the Washington National Cathedral. Both men defeated McCain in his two campaigns to become president, in 2000 and 2008. President Trump is not attending.
The service begins at 10:00 a.m. ET.
The "maverick" senator was previously honored at a memorial ceremony in his home state of Arizona Thursday, where he was eulogized by friend and luminaries such as former Vice President Joe Biden. Thousands of citizens paid respect as he lay in state at the Arizona Capitol.

Is he buried yet?
Oh wait! This wasn’t the “funeral” ... It’s (yet another) “memorial service.”
I opened and drank a 1989 Mouton Rothschild. That is the wine known for yearly artistic labels and for 1989 the iconic sheep were upside down to commemorate the fall of the Berlin Wall. For expensive bottles you need a good occasion and I couldnt think of a better time than to honour the great man and his legacy of a free Eastern Europe. Today I have a sock drawer than needs attention.
I think it has a loong way to go.
I haven’t watched any of the circus until this morning. I only wanted to see how bad the Drama Queen’s eulogy was. Far worse than I expected, full of anger, hate, and not-so-veiled shots at Trump, i.e. “We did not need to to make America great again, it was always great.”. UGH
THe Nasgul Ringwraiths gather around their passed acolyte corrupted by the rings of Mordor
The last time somebody this important died, the funeral closed with the words, “a little song, a little dance, a little seltzer down your pants.’ At least the Aretha people wrapped it up in one day.
This is just the last gasp of people who cling to their outdated utopian ideas and their list for power and are opposed to change.
His casket should make a trip over to the Vietnam Memorial. Let the vets do some mourning of their own.
I hope all MediaDumbs ratings plunge for this.
NeverRino!!
Wow, I was hoping the little btch would have higher class and not involve TDS and politics. And wtf with the audience applauding? What a cesspool of mental midgets
Lieberman says McCain, Clinton and Kerry were the greatest guys on the planet and they love Vietnam long time.
Umm Nixon ended the war.
That was the only reason I watched as well.
I’ve never heard Cindy or her sons speak but Meghan, she’s in need of some serious anger management.
...
I would put him down as a failed pilot and senator, too.
No, no. John McCain is one of the very, very few Cold War Russian ace pilots.
He got shot down in, burned up, crashed, ejected from or destroyed FIVE enemy (er, US Navy) planes in less than five year flight time!
Meghan “buffet destroyer” McCain.
Theyre almost acting as if he was a former president.
The hero he was, is, and always will be spouted platitude on the tee vee.
Approaching Godhood velocity here. Ugh.
I haven’t watched a minute of the endless bread bowl, as one of the chain restaurants puts it. Reagan had a wonderful set of ceremonies, and I don’t remember a single bitter word spoken by anyone. The only criticism I had was that the two Bushes spoke and neither of them were eloquent in the slightest. I’m sure that with all the Trump bashing, there’s not a dry eye in the Capitol, I can assure them there hasn’t been a wet eye in this house since McCain went to join Ted Kennedy.
Meghan McCain revealed what she is truly like: bitter, vindictive, lacking in grace and good manners (perhaps the fault of her parents), and not to be trusted.
Lieberman says McCain was the greatest thing to ever happen to Syria.
How’s that working out in Allepo?
I Bet ol Juan had a hand in Benghazi too
