Lindsey Olin Graham was born in Central, South Carolina, where his parents, Millie and Florence James “F.J.” Graham, ran a restaurant-bar-pool hall-liquor store, the “Sanitary Cafe”.[19] After graduating from D. W. Daniel High School, Graham became the first member of his family to attend college, and joined the Reserve Officers’ Training Corps. When he was 21, his mother died of Hodgkin’s lymphoma aged 52, and his father died 15 months later of a heart attack, aged 69.[19] Because his then-13-year-old sister was left orphaned, the service allowed Graham to attend University of South Carolina in Columbia so he could be near home and care for his sister, whom he adopted.

Graham’s memoir blunt about his upbringing
He shares stories of tough times and failed relationships.
Lindsey Graham grew up in the back room of a South Carolina bar, sharing a bathroom with patrons who worked down the street at a nearby mill plant. He took baths with water heated up on the stove.
At the age of 12, he was working at the downstairs pool hall, racking tables to help with his familys financial struggles.
Despite his humble origins, Graham speaks highly of his parents and his upbringing, calling the regulars at his familys bar part of an extended family of sorts.

It sure is a shame Lindsey attached himself to NN.
Years ago I remember really liking him, maybe without the evil influence, I can like him again.
He has risen against all odds and I commend and admire him for that.
