I have personally heard some Dems say that they were considering voting for McCain due to their concern about Obamas lack of experience. Then ... McCain chose Palen as his VP and they realized what poor judgement he showed. This is certainly not true but shows me what the propaganda media is putting out now about the 2008 election.
That's a judgement not supported by fact.
Additionally, without a running mate popular with conservatives, as Sarah was, McCain would have had an even more dismal showing on election day.
The irony is that neither McCain or Obama had any executive experience at all, while Sarah had almost 2 years as the successful Governor of Alaska.
Almost all legistators seeking the presidency have no experience as leaders and executives.
Their experience as senators and representatives is as members of large groups where the group consensus is what matters - not the qualities of a take-charge, stand alone top executive.
McCain's reluctance to take on Obama and challenge him eye to eye on the issues showed his instinct to play it safe with legislature style "go along- get along" politics instead showing the instinctive initiative and dynamic leadership of experienced executive.
Like Prsident Trump or not, there is no denying he has the dynamic leadership qualities of a successful executive as opposed to those who make their way seeking consensus as members of a group, where going along with the crowd is a more important quality.
