ox News analyst Brit Hume took a swipe at President Trump over his tweet offering condolences to the family of GOP Sen. John McCain (Ariz.), who died Saturday at the age of 81.
Hume pointed out that Trump’s tweet avoided praising McCain himself, setting it vastly apart from the dozens of tributes to the late senator posted by lawmakers from both parties.
“My deepest sympathies and respect go out to the family of Senator John McCain,” Trump tweeted Saturday after the announcement of McCain’s death. “Our hearts and prayers are with you!”
“Still not a kind word about McCain himself,” Hume replied.

Trump handled just fine. Mccain himself earned zero from Trump. He was a bitter old bastard. The family deserves love and consolation. Trump knows exactly what McCain was and what he did. McCain was in it for McCain and for Soros and for the Democrats. He was there to promote every overseas military act. He was not in for conservatism or for the country’s betterment - for at least the last 18 years.
Hume has never liked Trump. Never will.

Why should President Trump say nice things about McCain’s “character”? It would all be lies! Trump’s statement was polite and respectful—something McCain DOES NOT deserve, considering how nasty, disrespectful and petty McCain was towards President Trump.

I give credit to Howard Kurtz who started out his show by saying he wasn’t going to lionize McCain, then listed some of the negative things about him.
Other than that, the praise being heaped on McCain by FNC has been nauseating. I expect tomorrow won’t be so bad, but on the day of his funeral, I won’t be watching any news.
Nothing Trump does is good enough for some people.

Trump and McCain were enemies and it was personal. Trump went further than McCain did in trying to be civil and trying to work together. His remarks were fine. What is he supposed to do — lie?
McCain refused to allow passage of the ObamaCare replacement bill and now won’t even allow Trump at his funeral. McCain was a bitter vindictive man.
