ox News analyst Brit Hume took a swipe at President Trump over his tweet offering condolences to the family of GOP Sen. John McCain (Ariz.), who died Saturday at the age of 81.
Hume pointed out that Trump’s tweet avoided praising McCain himself, setting it vastly apart from the dozens of tributes to the late senator posted by lawmakers from both parties.
“My deepest sympathies and respect go out to the family of Senator John McCain,” Trump tweeted Saturday after the announcement of McCain’s death. “Our hearts and prayers are with you!”
“Still not a kind word about McCain himself,” Hume replied.

I think it is sacrilege to use the deceased as a tool to bludgeon the President.
I predicted this on Saturday, that the condolences paid to McCain would be turned into a slam fest against Trump because Trump didn’t recognize McCain as a “war hero”.
Well, guess what, neither do I.
A hero “shoots” down, and does not get “shot” down. A “Hero” doesn’t get the nickname, “Songbird”, while a prisoner of war.
A “hero” doesn’t “wet start” his plane, showing off and causing the deaths of many sailors before be whisked away by his Admiral-Daddy with complete impunity.
That, in addition to graduating last in his class, and crashing several other planes, does not a “hero” make.
His conduct as Senator is questionable too, with the Keating five, and the dossier on Trump.
He was a temperamental, narcissist, who recruited Sarah Palin to help him, and then crapped on her after he lost anyway.
He was an Obama lover, and a RINO...sort of like Brit Hume.
Heck I’ll pitch in... lets get him a gallon!

How many of us feel comfortable offering words of support/comfort/sympathy when it’s not what we feel? Maybe we’ll express sadness that someone’s loved one has passed on but if we weren’t particularly fond of that person, why utter phony words? I can’t do it personally. It may be awkward but awkward it is going to have to be. Guess we’re finding out how phony people really are!

A curiosity to me is that I have heard not 1 word about mccains faith, belief in God,....yet he is going to lay in state at the national cathedral. I have never heard McCain refer to God when he was alive. It seems a contradiction. I hope he just held it close to the vest.
It was not a pure repeal of ObamaCare with nothing in its place. There were healthcare provisions. I also don’t think McCain objected to it because it was not conservative enough.

Never forget the campaign finance reform, that made it harder for unknowns to replace the incumbents while claiming it would do the opposite. CFR was also the issue that turned me away from that Rhino GW. He signs it knowing it couldn’t get 2/3rds of the vote and intentionally leaves it up the the USSC.
Remind them McCain said he didn’t want trump at his funeral

McCain objected because there wasn’t a true replacement for the amount of repeal. Remember Trump promised this would be one of his first accomplishments.
Well, Trump didn’t mention praise for his honesty or loyalty (Keating Five/crippled ex-wife).
Next up — whether Trump defies McCain and attends the funeral — to which the media will be in an uproar — or does not attend — to which the media will be in an uproar …
