Gov’t. workers are not a privileged class unto themselves, they only think they are. Security clearances only apply to the position one holds and if you don’t hold it, you don’t get to keep it. You are a guardian of information that applies only to your job. How does it work? Lets make it simple. As a soldier I am issued a 40mm grenade launcher, after my enlistment is over, I leave the Army. The Army takes back the 40mm, I don’t get to keep it. That’s how it also applies to clearances. Room temperature IQ’s can figure that out.
