So their use of the words, “first time ever”, and “never before”, and “caused by climate change”, are a little dramatic. The species is 250,000 years old, Homo Erectus is 6 million years old and the earth is 4.5 billion years old, give or take a half billion years. In just the past 40 thousand years ice was down to France. And we had no carbon footprint at all.
Does this mean we are all going to die today? Oh, well.
