BRISTOL, CONN. ESPN will not show the national anthem during "Monday Night Football" broadcasts this year, the company's president said on Friday
Pitaro was asked by a reporter if he spoke to the NFL about the rule changes and the national anthem and if he would consider turning the cameras on an athlete thats kneeling for the anthem.
"We generally have not broadcasted the anthem and I don't think theres going to be any change this year. Our plan going into this year is to not broadcast the anthem, Pitaro said.
Again, there could be changes. Its somewhat unpredictable whats going to happen in the world but as of now our plan now is to not broadcast the anthem. We have communicated that back to the NFL. They have not asked but we proactively just as a courtesy and as good partners let them know what our plans are, he continued.
The network also did not air the national anthem during last seasons "Monday Night Football" broadcasts.
Stephanie Druley, ESPNs senior vice president of event and studio production, said the network showed the national anthem three times last year: following Hurricane Harveys devastation, the Las Vegas massacre and President Trumps comments on the national anthem protests.

I see what you did there.
Lol
ESPN is marketing the NFL to the homosexual community. Their slogan is "Tight ends on their knees!"
Beat me to it. That’s exactly what I was going to say...
If I really needed football in my life - I don't - I would watch college ball. They still stand and show respect for the anthem, don't they?
As for their “business relationships,” it boggles the mind that ANY pro league would want to be in business with a place that has devoted more than 50% of its programming to whatever Steven A. Smith’s jackass opinion is that particular day or what Mike Golic’s pet Jew and a hispanic woman who looks like a garbage bag full of loose mango pulp when she wears a black thinks on “Get Up.” Disney killed the golden goose that the original ESPN handed to them years ago.
I’ll be watching NCAA Football. Currently, I am watching the series, “NYPD BLUE” and still have a few seasons to watch. “Deadwood” is another one that I like. And there are a ton of John Wayne movies to keep me entertained.
I was just thinking this:
Extra
Silly
Poofter
Network
A lot of us have that same idea. Hopefully, more and more will.
Courage !
What’s ESPN?
If ESPN does not broadcast the kneeler did the protest ever happen??
Countdown for antifa and bam to lose their minds
Doesn’t matter, I won’t be watching. Screw the NFL.
Going to a small high school game tonight - F the NFL.
I’ve got DVR copies of “The Outlaw Josey Wales” and I need to make sure I’ve got “High Plains Drifter”.
And I’ve got some recordings of “The King is Coming”, “John Ankerberg” and some emergency “Star Trek TOS” and “Seinfeld”.
[Whats ESPN?]
Expired
Socialist
Pandering
Network
I’d say bye, but I never followed football... So, screw it!
All that and more time for adverts!
Such a deal!!!
What’s Monday night football?
Therefore ESPN is dead to me.
we live in one of the best countries on earth (even after suffering Obama’s eight years of sabotage)
and these guys, corporations make billions of dollars here
if they hate USA that much, they should get the hell out!
(and we should take all the money they made off us and use it for schools: American civics and firearms training classes
