But isn’t that the situation countrywide? The so-called “blue states” are those where their suburban/rural populations still out strip their cities. I doubt that there is a big city in this country that’s still operating with a Republican Mayor and public infrastructure. Someone posted Illinois 2014 Gubernatorial Election results with county picture of the state. ALL the counties, save Cook (Chicago) voted for Rauner and he got something like 1.8 million votes. Pat Quinn won ONLY COOK County and got 1.6 million votes!. It’s the same here in CA. LA county, with marginal “help” from the SF Bay Area controls our state. We have 52 counties. Murders, statewide in 2016 totaled just under 1,700, with 47% of that total in four SoCal counties. You had to go 36 counties deep to get to more than TEN murders per county, and ten of them had ZERO! This isn’t about blue vs red states, it’s about urban vs suburban/rural areas. If we do not fix this problem now, big cities will own this country in the next couple of years, if they don’t already. What is needed is repeal of one man, one vote, and the 17th Amendment that provided for direct election of US Senators. We have been set up by the Socialists. We are, sadly, a Democracy, not a Republic any longer.
