Former White House aide Omarosa Manigault Newman said Friday that she had listened to a recording from "The Apprentice" in which President Trump uses the N-word.
The former Trump administration staffer and "The Apprentice" contestant told NPR that she had heard the tape directly, calling it a major factor that changed her opinion of the president, despite the fact that her own memoir says she was only told of the recording.
"I heard the tape," she said, adding: "Hearing it changed everything for me."
Manigault Newman, who is black, is set to release on Tuesday a tell-all book, "Unhinged," which details her time working for Trump during the 2016 campaign and eventual administration.
In the book, however, a passage near the end claims that she merely heard a recounting of the recording from a friend.
"On this phone conversation, I was told exactly what Donald Trump said — yes, the N-word and others in a classic Trump-goes-nuclear rant — and when he'd said them," Manigault Newman's book reads, according to NPR.
"During production he was miked, and there is definitely an audio track," it continues.
On Friday, Manigault Newman insisted that the passage supported her claim, and that an NPR interviewer who confronted her over the discrepancy had merely not read the book.
The White House issued a blistering statement Friday on the impending release of Manigault Newman's "Unhinged," calling her a "disgruntled former White House employee" who is "trying to profit off of these false attacks."
“Instead of telling the truth about all the good President Trump and his administration are doing to make America safe and prosperous, this book is riddled with lies and false accusations," press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said.
What did Donald say about a n-word during the campaign? Did she say? It makes a difference.

Libel requires proving malice and all she has to say is she sincerely believed it to be true and there’s nothing anyone can do. This is why Trump said in the campaign that defamation laws need to be changed.
Her book title is going to make everyone think it’s an autobiography.
NPR badgered her about this discrepancy. Surprise.

This word is so worn out! They use it as a weapon. If one wants to look at who uses words to inflame, look at the (what do they call themselves now?) black race out in the streets, attacking and rioting.. they are an angry lot ... they have names for everyone.
That brings to mind.. the black guy who was angry because the percentage of the prison inmates are black. He wanted more white persons in those prisons. Is that the same as giving everyone an A or everyone a C... to make it even?

I think that Omarosa is inspiring the use of the ‘N-word’ more than anyone this side of an NFL kneeling protest.
