mainstream conservatives like Paul Ryan, Mitch McConnell, Lindsay Graham, Jeff Flake, John Kasich, Marco Rubio, Lamar Alexander, John Cornyn?
There are four GOP US Senators that have demonstrated they side with the citizens and the rule of law.
Ten voted for the last amnesty and more would have but their vote wasn’t needed.
In my view one cannot be considered conservative if they refuse to conserve the nation.
Agreed.
But I'd also forward the proposition that if "mainstream conservatism" continues to hold onto the "civic nationalism/anyone can be a good American/you're an American because you have a piece of paper" mentality, then it will continue to not really conserve anything.
Like it or not, importing millions of foreigners with no tradition of self-government, and expecting Magic Soil(TM) to make them into "good by-gum Amurricans!" is a fool's errand. If you want to conserve what America actually is, then you need to preserve (or return to) the demographics that America had when it was actually America.
