My BIL is Turkish American, as are his friends, They all despise Erdogan!
I think that is a very common thing. But they will never publicly admit it, for fear of being put in jail or worse.
I’m sure the Kemalists hate him too. He has left them alone until this election out of fear of what they would do. Now he seems to think he is untouchable.
There are people who can and would reach out an touch him, in spite of his arrogance.
We think our Congress put on kabuki theater? The Middle East all talk to each other and make loud noises for their position, but they protect their business relationships above all.
As bad as Erdogan badmouths Israel and Israel returns the statements in kind. But Turkey does trade with Israel. And Israel does trade with Turkey.
There is a limit and he is always pushing the envelope. He will find that Trump in not like out past State Department officials.
The issue of Pastor Brunson, is an exceptionally bad statement toward us.
The reality is, his military, although large and well equipped, is simply not that effective in battle. But they do have air support where the neighbors are weak there.
Turkish military has taken pretty heavy losses from the Guerrillas in Iraq, Turkey and Iran (PKK), and the SDF in Syria. They did take Efrin (Afrin) after 3 months, with heavy Turk and jihadi Militia allies. FSA, ISIS, al-Qaeda (Nusra), Sultan Murad & other Jihadi’s.
In Efrin the SDF forces destroyed at least 43 of Turkey’s German tanks and knocked out 2 or 3 aircraft. And when Turkey was in combat with ISIS in Aleppo, it was said that Turkey lost 50 tanks in urban warfare engagement. And eventually had a Gulf State paid ISIS to leave Aleppo and let Turkey have it.

The most interesting and important stuff to know, is NEVER on MSM. There is a lot of noise on the web, but obscure websites break the hidden things first.
