(CNN)Michael Cohen, President Donald Trump's former personal attorney, claims that then-candidate Trump knew in advance about the June 2016 meeting in Trump Tower in which Russians were expected to offer his campaign dirt on Hillary Clinton, sources with knowledge tell CNN. Cohen is willing to make that assertion to special counsel Robert Mueller, the sources said

That isn't even what the meeting was - it was one woman - and it isn't what ended up occurring. So if we were to believe this - he supposedly knew about a meeting that was to take place with a woman whom they believed had negative information on his opponent, but did not have any, and nothing came of the meeting. The only negative consequence of this would be that Trump was lying about knowing about the meeting - if this report is even true - it otherwise is evidence of nothing.
However if Cohen can’t prove it....I doubt Mueller would make a move since this article states that Cohen is looking for relief for his own legal troubles if he tells Mueller this....as in “I can lie about Trump and Trump Jr if he said his father didn’t know so I can get off the hook”
Cohen claims he was with Trump when Trump was told of the meeting. His testimony alone would not be enough to bring perjury charges against anyone unless it's corroborated. The danger here is if someone else corroborates his story such as Manifort. Made up or not, we all know Mueller would love nothing more than to charge the Presidents inner circle with perjury.
He doesn’t have to prove it just needs to be believed by the prosecutor. That’s all it takes.

As it relates to a perjury indictment, that is true. One would think that Mueller would have to have corroboration before charging one of The President of The United States family. But he is just dirty enough to do it I fear.

I always thought Cohen was never to bright and trying to destroy Trump, to save his own ass is just plain dumb, He should have never went along with the witch hunt. The president is a loyal man and would have pardoned him for anything Mueller frames him on. Now that’s all shot to hell. Both Trump and Cohen are NYers and Trump is worshipped by a lot of common people in the city. They will not take to kindly to anyone trying to set up their favorite son, who happens to be the president of tbe United States.
Cohen has been bullied by the corrupt special prosecutor into saying whatever he wants him to say, true or not.
Cohen will, in all likelihood, be facing a disbarment proceeding in the very near future ...
throwback last year when people were saying the point of Mueller was to destroy everyone surrounding POTUS to get something, anything.
