When I was in grade school in the early 1950s, every recess we used to play a game aptly named MURDER BALL. The way this game worked was simple. If a dozen guys were playing, the guy with the ball attempted to keep possession of it for as long as possible while the other 11 guys tried to run him down and pummel him to the ground. He was only spared a beating when he tossed away the ball. That said, these children’s games are a poor analogy to a physical assault by an unknown adult. I’ve witnessed a fair amount of this violence in my life, and a number of times where ambulances were required on account of cuts and bullet holes.
So I can put you in the column of you’ll kill someone who pushes you down and you feel threatened
That feel threatened euphemism reminds me of “health of the mother”
