Now he needs a time out!
The first step is to define God.
A proper definition should be able to convert most atheists to theists.
I had a Dr. a long time ago who graduated college at age 14.
Easy. The universe is so vast and complex that it couldnt possibly come to be on its own, therefore something infinitely and immesuably more vast and complex must have created it.
The kid only needs a mirror for that
Indeed! Paul said a similar thing in Romans 1:18-21, where he shows that God has clearly revealed His eternal power and divine nature through creation. But people suppress the truth in unrighteousness. They want to hold onto their sins, so they hold down the truth of God as the almighty Creator and believe in ridiculous myths, like evolution, so that they can continue in their sins.
People reject Christ because they LOVE their sin.
“This is the judgment, that the Light has come into the world, and men loved the darkness rather than the Light, for their deeds were evil. For everyone who does evil hates the Light, and does not come to the Light for fear that his deeds will be exposed.”
—John 3:19-20
So what was Doogie Howser really like? :-)
The same thing a high school education used to get you. Community college is pretty much like 2 more years of high school anymore.
Well that’s refreshing. TV and the movies like to portray scientific geniuses as atheists. Sheldon Cooper, for example. In reality they’re as diverse in their beliefs as the rest of us.
You sound a little elitist there. I did 3 years at our local community college and got my AS. Why? Because it’s so much cheaper than the state university. Every single one of my credits transferred to the state university where it took me 2 additional years to get my BS.
No he was much, much, smarter than Doogie.
Since God transcends the empirical it is impossible to “prove” his existence empirically. You can create a very high probability however, which the classical and presuppositional arguments already do.
He “graduated with an Associates Degree in Florida?”
Never knew such a degree existed. Is that, like, the study of Florida’s geography and wildlife?
I never realized Florida was a subject...
(My entire question was sarcastic in the wording of post)
ahhh...the “holy grail” of existence: unify both physics and meta-physics. Prove through both that all things require the “Uncaused-Cause”! (see Thomas Aquinas)
This is only made more difficult by the never-ending proliferation of theories, conjectures, assumptions and hypothesizing that something can come from nothing.
“He wants to be an astrophysicist and scientifically prove the existence of God when he grows up ...”
So, he’s going to wait for God to grow up?
I guess proper sentence structure is no longer taught in journalism school.
He got what I was saying...LOL
Another good one....
And no,folks,I am *absolutely* not an atheist.
It's okay, mine's a BM, it's all BS. No elitism here. 8~)
