"What's the point of the secrecy then?"

Many of the launches were publicized, but details about the purposes of many of the missions weren't. Payload contents or details about payloads have been concealed for many of the missions.

No. I can't stand lying to the people any more! Aaaaaaaaaaaa!

Okay. I'll fess-up right here and now. It's all a conspiracy!

As taught by the GLBTQ and feminist television screenwriters for decades, our military activities were all part of a vast, right-wing, conspiracy for our male, chauvinist Patriarchy against global person-kind. We spent all of our time reading the minds of all of the civilians with HAARP: those big antennas for analyzing the ionosphe...uh, for reading people's minds. Yeah. That's why there were so many of us.

Way back then, we, as did our predecessors, prepared to round up the civilian populace and take everyone in pink trucks to the camps. Why did we do it? I don't know. We just though it would be cool.

...don't know why we never went through with it, or why our lizard-head overlords from the planet Nibiru never showed up to use the human race for food.

[This comment is nothing personally against you, by the way. It's just that so many conspiracy stories about our military forces have saturated the Net for so long. People should know that we're going to get a little touchy sooner or later.]

The conspiracy tales are like spitting in our faces for the hardships that we signed up for. No, not broken bodies, PTSD-whatever (we're all mental, you know, according to the man-haters and fags in hollyweird and their psycho-bitch friends in the politically correct voodoo, head shrinking "industry") and dying men, every single one crying for his mommy ("as seen [only] on TV"). No! It was the total control and total mind-**** of initial training, the dirty, nasty daily details, long periods of time away from home without being able to communicate with family, broken families, missed civilian opportunities and nearly no sleep--ever!

And I'm getting tired. The Internet. Gotta love it. ;-)
