That he doesn’t understand Trump’s rhetoric vs real world results is amazing to me. Talking smack IS a rational and reasoned negotiating tactic. Obama did it to Americans and our allies - he did NOT do it to our enemies.
In academia and the media, certainly - consider that to state anything other than 0bama sycophancy would cost you your job in those two arenas for eight interminable years and you get an idea of why. In time that orthodoxy reinforces itself and you look around and everyone around you thinks exactly as you do (or else), hence must be right. That's how it happens.
