It doesn’t. I’m a member and have never seen this at a protest, unless you count Veteran or Military t-shirts that anyone can purchase. I’ve also never seen anyone walking around with an AR slung across their shoulder.

So it's a slur then. I recall one (1) pro-gun rally where the marchers were armed, I don't think it was Oath Keepers.
I don't go to a lot of rallies, the few I've seen had a few people wearing camo but that's it.
Wonder if that's what counts as "military gear".
