The NRA has a number of foreign members on the books. Not sure of the number, but some of them are trying to start an NRA in their own countries, others just like the NRA.

There is a group in Russia which is working with the NRA to start a NRA org in Russia. They may already have done so but they may not yet have the size they need to be effective. I suspect that she is part of that group.

talk about an exploding head article.

...was charged Monday and accused of working with Americans to carry out a secret Russian effort to influence American politics.

uh...no.
She was indicted for illegally acting as an unregistered agent of the Russian Federation

I fail to see where lobbying and seeking “ back channels” is a criminal act
Both are widely used forms of political action and diplomacy

Charged as Russian Agent

Notice it doesn't say spy.

She didn't seem to be hiding her activities.

The only thing she seems to be have done is try to get a 'back channel' meeting with Trump.

Since when is trying to influence political decisions a crime? Did she steal any secrets or attempt to flip any agents in the FBI or CIA?

Appears she did absolutely nothing to hide her activities. This is all bullshit.

Right..... because secret Russian agents get orders over twitter. This sounds like another crap-charge by the current witch hunt.

“But if Trump was already colluding with the Russians why was her effort necessary?”

You ask too many questions.

US presidential candidates can go abroad and meet foreign leaders... not a crime. Are foreign governments arresting US citizens for similar actions?

But a foreigner tries to “broker” a meeting going through large “conservative” organzations that back a candidate, what’s the effing crime?

Yep. An 8Chan poster has evidence of her being at best a rogue Russian agent working to bring down Putin.

Since she didn’t register as an agent of the Russian government the organizations like the NRA and Prayer Breakfast people would have been unable to vet her. It looks like the crime was related to the deception.

It looks like the crime was not registering as working on behalf of the Russian government which would deny the NRA and Christian groups the ability to adequately vet this woman. They wound up with this tie to the Russian government totally unbeknownst to them.

WOW!!!!! Our govt sure on its toes.
AND the Prez had said yesterday the intel community were ‘slackers’....
He sure wrong especially after the 12 indictments..../Sarc

WOW!!!!!

Just think if ‘they’ were this alert on things that REALLY matter, Parkland and Boston Marathon may not have happened.

Then again, we can’t ‘fault’ our people for Boston Marathon because the Russkies SAID they had been tracking the bros and KNEW of their plans.

“”BUT BUT, you know how those Russians lie”” so we will not even look into it seriously.

“She was indicted for illegally acting as an unregistered agent of the Russian Federation”

Which means that she was secretly carrying out a Russian effort to influence American politics by not registering and providing a paper trail which would have allowed the NRA and Christian groups could vet her.

You’re right, that is a deceptively written sentence because it means something true but also means something very untrue (which is the crux of why what she did was illegal, actually).

Her actions have caused embarrassment to the NRA which tirelessly lobbies for our 2nd Amendment rights.

You are kidding right? I mean, you forgot the /sarcasm tag. The feds CONSTANTLY bring cases that are thrown out, which they can’t win. They want to bankrupt you, until you submit. Do you not even read FR or the news?

Dittos.

The Deep State has a scorched earth policy against anybody remotely connected with President Trump and his campaign.

This Russian woman looking to do influence peddling, has more serious ramifications for democrats than for Trump or republicans.

She was part of “....a project to alter the Republican Party’s traditional hostility to Russia by exploiting ties to the NRA”

So, basically, they (the Russians) knew that the political party most hostile to Russian interests was the republican party, so, they sought to influence the GOP in order to change that hostility, while also pretending to be in support of the NRA (a favorite of the GOP). Apparently didn’t work.

Interestingly, they didn’t feel the need to influence the democratic party, since the democrats are the party that Russia can count for anything they wish to do and get away with, such as allowing Crimea to be taken from the Ukraine. Putin/Russia knew/know that, their ideology is completely opposite that of republicans, whereas, democrats are as close to communism as Putin and most Russians.

So, who to target? Nothing to worry about on the democrat side who are already in the fold for the Russian ideology and who are the friendly side to Russians when it comes to American politics. But those pesky republicans need to be persuaded to stop being so hostile to Russia.

Well that was her ‘job’.

We have agents in sensitive positions etc also.

The 2 Boston Bombers were served up on a platter and ‘we’ let them go about their business.

If her ‘job’ to embarrass US, Russian won’t alert us - UNLESS her ‘worth’ is suddenly diminished then they are scoring points to drop a dime on her.

How many RINO & LIB spies do you suppose are in places like NRA and such..

Remember back in the Klan ‘hey day’ and Hells Angels, LEO couldn’t really go full frontal attack as both were manned with LEO plants....

You are correct.

The ‘game’ is played by both sides and sometimes one side is completely aware of what the other side is doing.

Check your ‘freepmail’.
