Seems strange to make them walk three blocks with many flashing light squad cars. Why not drive the manager over to them with one non-flashing light car?

It would have been worse to make them ride in the patrol cars. Since the kids showed receipts, the police could have called the manager on video chat on their cell phones and had him make an ID on the spot. Or asked him for more detailed description, such as clothing. These kids probably did not look like thugs, but more like Urkel, in view that they were at the college early to orientate for STEM studies. You know, "clean and articulate."
