They can’t separate fantasy from wishful thinking. There is no reality for them.
If one believe that morality is what you want it to be, it's just a hop, skip, and jump to that point at which you have to say (and pretend to believe) that reality itself is what you want it to be.
Not to get philosophical, but this is the quicksand that moral relativism leads to...and that which is going to get the Democratic Party in trouble.
Just because one says or believes that reality is what you say it is doesn't mean that reality is going to cooperate.
In fact, reality is stubborn like that...it refuses to cooperate with bullsh!t.
