IMHO. this deserves repeating:
“Shame upon any American citizen who bows or curtsies before any monarch. Elizabeth Windsor is a head of state by accident of birth, and nothing more. Americans are free men, and the equal of all other men. Good on you, Mr. President!”
On September 13, 2001, a memorial service was held in St. Paul's Cathedral in London. When the “Star Spangled Banner” was played, the Queen of Great Britain joined in the singing of the National Anthem of a foreign power with an air of great grief and love.
While we think of and/or commemorate 9/11 and “Never forget,” this profound act of Queen Elizabeth's is truly something we should always remember.
