I have always thought that Lincoln had the right approach: Don't ask God to be on your/our side, ask to be on God's side.

And no, I do not have a problem with a politician seeking God's guidance. To be frank, I dont think that happens enough.

How about a petulant, publicity hungry and dishonest politician running to the media and bragging to them that he seeks guidance from The Lord?
