I recall my LE days in the 60’s when it became known among among security and criminal investigators that a Congressman (I think he was from NJ) was a card carrying member of La Cosa Nostra and believed to have been involved in organized gang killings. I’m getting a little old now and can’t recall the name. But there is no requirement for Congress to prevent a known criminal from serving. You get the vote, you get the job!
A known Communist headed the CIA under Obama. I will question the loyalty of those within thesr agencies.
That may have been Congressman Roland Libonati who had Sam Giancana’s Son-in-Law as Chief of Staff. He just happened to be one of Al Capone’s lawyers. He was succeeded by another Outfit man, Frank Annunnzio. Both of these were put in office by the First Ward machine.
