The story as I heard it was that Strozk had - I think the term was “cycled out” or some such - on his lie-detector test - that is, agents are supposed to take lie-detector tests every so-many years, and he hadn’t taken his during the required period because there were too many people in line to do so and he had to wait beyond the deadline he claimed - thus, according to him, he never failed the test but only didn’t take it in time, and so didn’t have a valid test for a period of time - during that time, supposedly his security clearance was also suspended - he claims he didn’t know this, but someone on the panel said this was part of the FBI regs - no valid lie-detector, no security clearance - for Strzok not to be aware of this when he claimed to be so familiar with all the regulations of the Bureau strains credulity, but what else is new.....
