So in retrospect WWI and WWII were a tremendous waste of American lives and treasure.

Don't worry Europe, the EU has been importing the replacement people so all is good. The price is your culture and freedom. The Nazis and Soviets could never dream that it could be that easy to roll Western Europe by using its people as a weapon against itself.
