Hey, leftist writer, how about mentioning that part of Haiti’s problems was their leaders committing mass genocide against almost all white people in their country after their successful revolution? That made them pariahs in the world, and it killed off much of their business class and the ones building any kind of infrastructure at all in their country.
It was stupid and immoral, but the Marxists still want everyone to see the Haitian revolution as glorious. They say it was justified because they were just killing people who held them in slavery, but would most Americans see murdering all white Southerners after the Civil War as a great, admirable idea too?
Genocide is not “beautiful” Mr. Leftist, and it is one of the reasons why Haiti is arguable the worst country in the hemisphere. And after over 200 years of independence, isn’t it time for Haitians to take a tiny bit of responsibility for the state of their own country without all the excuses, excuses, excuses?
I've read that about 28% of them died as a result of the Civil War. Apparently after the destruction of the Civil War, nearly 2 million people in the South died from starvation, exposure and disease, as a consequence of the invasion and conquest by the forces of the Northern states.
Probably didn't get into the northern papers much because they were still trying to justify the mass murder they committed in preventing Independence for the Southern states.
