Heshmat Alavi
(1) Unconfirmed reports citing an official of #Iran's central bank claim on July 4th a light plane affiliated to the #IRGC transferred 2.5 tons of gold from the IRGC's Payam International Airport in Karaj (W of Tehran) to a Gulf country.
(2) Seyed Majed Alamalhoda, son of Ahmad Alamalhoda, @khamenei_ir's representative in Mashhad (NE #Iran) & Abdulreza Abed, a former senior #IRGC officer, were among the passengers of this plane, the unconfirmed report adds.
(3) Through #IRGC operatives & with the help of a UAE financial system network, Seyed Majed Alamalhoda intended to exchange the gold into US dollars, according to the #Iran central bank official. He was identified and apprehended.
(4) The rendered US dollars were to be transferred back to Iran by Seyed Majed Alamalhoda & delivered to the #IRGC, to then be sold at a price of 90,000 to 95,000 rials, the reports add. (This would've provide a huge profit for the IRGC)
