PGA 3 day event. Tournament formerly called Greenbrier Classic. President Trump arrived the first day to kick off the event.

President Donald Trump spoke to the Salute to Service event Tuesday at The Greenbrier in White Sulphur Springs, W.Va., held in conjunction with the PGA Tour’s there stop this week.

During his speech, he recognized several current PGA Tour pros in the crowd, including Bubba Watson, Keegan Bradley and Phil Mickelson. Trump also called out PGA Tour Champions player John Daly.

“I like Phil, and Phil I think likes me,” Trump said.

Amid his remarks on various policy items, and praise for the military, he offered some plaudits for golfers.

“These are PGA players. These are unbelievably talented people. They’re talented in their mind and in their body,” Trump said. “Their muscles are strong but their mind has to be stronger. It’s tough. And these are tough people.”

Housed under the West Virginia Wing of The Greenbrier Resort, the top-secret, super-sized bunker was built for all 535 members of Congress during the Eisenhower era. And, The Greenbrier, which has been welcoming guests from around the world since 1778, including 26 presidents and countless celebrities.

In joint statement, @NancyPelosi and @SenSchumer denounce Pres Trump for his "brazen insults and denigration" today of Germany. They call it "an embarrassment." In Brussels today, @POTUS called it "very sad" that Germany made a "massive oil and gas deal with Russia."...and...Further, Dem Leaders Pelosi and Schumer say Trump meeting with Putin will be a failure and a grave step backwards, if Russia doesn't offer "ironclad assurances and concrete steps toward a full cessation of Russian attacks on our democracy."

3h...Later in a meeting with Merkel at @NATO, Pres Trump said he raised the pipeline issue with her. Also said the US and Germany have a tremendous relationship and they were having a great meeting.(NIKK.check Mercel's body language...the legs especially)

Mark...Chancellor Merkel didn't mention the blunt criticism by @POTUS earlier in the day about Germany's pipeline deal with Russia. Through a translator, she said, "we are good partners and we wish to continue to cooperate in the future."

3h...Mark...In meeting with French Pres @EmmanuelMacron, @POTUS hailed their "tremendous relationship." Macron told Pres Trump: we have worked together and will continue to work together. When Macron spoke in French, Trump said he didn't understand , but it was beautiful.

Pres Trump praised Pres Macon for "doing a terrific job" as president of France. "I think its going to be very successful." @POTUS said they're discussing trade, NATO and other things. "Hopefully in the end, it will all work out." Said it was great to be with Macron again.

2h...Mark....@VP on political trip today to do fundraisers for two GOP House members up for re-election: @RepKevinYoder in Kansas City, MO and @RepRodBlum in Cedar Rapids, IA. Both events closed to press coverage. @VP has policy events too to amortize political costs of trip.

1h...Mark...In remarks to fellow @NATO leaders today, Pres again suggested member nations not only meet 2% of GDP national defense spending goal, but increase it to 4%. Confirming @POTUS statement, @PressSec says he raised the same issue at @NATO last year.

"Pres Trump wants to see our allies share more of the burden and at a very minimum, meet their already stated obligations," says @PressSec of @POTUS call for increase from 2% to 4% defense spending for each @NATO member nation.

Hubby and I are preparing our old concrete porch floor for painting. We’re racing the rain which should arrive tomorrow and stay for Friday. (We NEED it!) It’s a fun project and it will look great when we’re finished.
