Florida Gov. Rick Scott has sharpened his opposition to the federal government’s separation of children from adults who attempt to illegally enter the U.S., specifically linking the policy to President Donald Trump and declaring in a letter late Tuesday that “This practice needs to stop now.”
Scott expressed his position in a letter to Health and Human Services Sec. Alex Azar seeking information about an HHS-run facility in Homestead that is housing 94 minors who were separated from their parents.

Agreed. Those backstabbing RINO’s are a big part of what brought as that stinking treasonous Gang of 8 mass immigration and amnesty bill in 2013. And half of the Gang of 8 was RINO Republicans many of whom had gained their initial support with fake claims to the conservative base, most noticably Marco Rubio and Jeff Flake, both of whom tried to paint themselves as being supportive of the Tea Party movement. Who then turned around to betray the movement on the one issue that matters more than anything else, mass immigration and thus the very identity of the US, which is at the core of what makes a nation with conservative values, like gun rights and the Bill of Rights as a whole, possible in the first place.
Yep, it’s already happening for most conservatives I know in Florida, and the scary part, the stench of his RINO-ism would spread all over the entire Florida ticket, convincing many solid conservatives to just stay home. Scott doesn’t just drag himself down, he drags down the whole Florida GOP ticket for all races. There’s still time to get a real conservative in there who doesn’t bend to amnesty and the cheap labor lobby, and would rally the base. We absolutely need that to win in November.

Bull. Scott is a successful two-term Governor set to dethrone the three-term incumbent Bill Nelson. No one else in the Florida GOP can do that.
All of us from Florida have been telling y’all we don’t like him and that many would vote for him while holding their noses. The best that can be said for Scott is that he’s running against Bill Nelson. That’s enough.....but it sure doesn’t mean we like Scott.
Florida hasn’t had its primary yet and the last thing the state and the nation needs is another RINO like Marco Rubio, John McCain or Lindsey Graham to interfere with the MAGA agenda. What made Trump’s revolution so meaningful and far reaching is that he not only took out Hillary Clinton, he also took out the RINOs like Jeb Bush and Marco Rubio who would have pushed amnesty and the cheap labor lobby agenda themselves. The swamp that Trump is fighting is mostly the Democrats yes, but it’s also the remnants of the GOPe who are just as dangerous. Trump already has enough to deal with after November with the likely election of Mitt Romney leading to a GOPe thorn in his side. The last thing he needs is another RINO in the same state where Rubio has been pushing amnesty against everything Trump and Bannon have been doing to save the country. It’s not even a matter of things after November, Scott’s presence on the ticket is a shadow over every other candidate who stands with Trump and supports the conservative agenda. That’s why it’s so important to get an anti-amnesty candidate on the ticket while there’s still time to do it.
That’s too damn bad for you and the other holier-than-thou types. Put up a candidate that can beat Scott and Nelson. But you can’t so you’ll dump all over Scott when he’s pulled ahead of Nelson already.
I can see and understand this, I’ve done plenty of nose-holding and ti’s something we realistically have to do sometimes. My fear is that Scott is so toxic because of the amnesty issue that he’ll drag down the entire Florida ticket with him. That discharge petition to push the Paul Ryan amnesty bill came out of Florida, from Rep. Curbelo, and it’s no surprise it didn’t go down well with conservative voters there. That’s why it’s so politically stupid for Scott to be lining up with the pro-amnesty side. It’s infuriating because I feel like Scott could be a very good candidate, and there are things to like about him, I just can’t understand why he does something so dumb as to take the side of the RINO amnesty pushers like Graham and McCain. Obviously if he does wind up confirmed as the nominee we’ll have no choice but to hold our noses, but the fear is that less involved or informed conservatives will stay home because the amnesty support ticks them off more than any other single issue. Hopefully there’s a conservative out there who can beat him in the upcoming primary, because the amnesty support is poison. Again so frustrating, even with his flip flops he’d be a good candidate if he stayed away from the Graham-McCain amnesty kool-aid, I can’t understand why Scott would give into the amnesty side unless he’s completely dependent on campaign money from the cheap labor lobby, which would be odd because if nothin else, he seems to be savvy enough to not rely on any particular set of donors for his funds.
It may appear stupid to you, and you are entitled to your opinion. I look at it differently.
The Dem and the Pub leaders are owned by the same people. They laugh at keeping the plebs tied up in knots fighting back and forth between them, while they sit back behind the scenes and pull the strings.
With Trump as the exception, the UNIPARTY has things sewn up before the primaries using Alinsky tactics to successfully smear/eliminate non-uniparty candidates, so they win either way.
I still support the guy. Not 100%, but the Reagan rule applies.
Rick Scott, going over to the dark side. No reason to vote against Nelson to replace him with just another NO vote.

Again, this is a discussion for the PRIMARY. Once the Republican is chosen, it is too late to quibble. An imperfect Republican is better than ANY Democrat.
I agree, the primary isn’t until almost the start of September, that’s why it’s so important to get a conservative in there who truly cares about defending our borders and the rule of law. It’s the same reason to mobilize to get a replacement for Grahamnesty and McCain, who really have been as bad as any Democrat there if not worse since they give the media an excuse to paint the open-borders, cheap labor mass immigration lobby as “bipartisan”, coming from Red States and backstabbing Trump in his much needed efforts to protect the nation from being transformed into Venezuela from mass immigration.
Yes, it really is that simple, couldn’t agree more.
