” I may not vote for a Florida senator.”

I agree, who cares if Trump is able to get his Supreme Court picks confirmed.

WE STAND ON PRINCIPLE HERE!!!!

Just...stop.

The time for this argument was during the primary.

Unfortunately, Rick Scott is the candidate. If you don’t support him, or if you continue to denigrate him, you are helping to elect Nelson. As bad as Scott may be, Nelson would be worse.

You are falling into the “if they aren’t perfect, I won’t support them” trap. This is perpetrated by Democrats on Republican candidates all the time.

So you’re in favor of “catch and release” then Rick? Because that is the only alternative permissible under the different court orders. If you are, have the balls to say it. Don’t try to score cheap political points with a teary “this needs to stop” statement without telling us what you would do to solve the crisis.

I’ll take a Rubio who votes for Trump’s judges over a Democrat who doesn’t, ANY DAY!

And yes, Rubio is still filth because of Amnesty and his lies about it...but if Trump gets his picks to the court, he will be the GOOD SIDE of that issue.

You’re basically making excuses for Scott for betraying the two most fundamental issues that any conservative cannot betray the base on, mass immigration and gun rights. I get that governors have to be flexible sometimes and take different positions on some issues, but there are some core issues where any politician calling themselves a conservative absolutely cannot betray the base. The two key issues are gun rights and the amnesty and immigration issue, and Scott has betrayed us on both.

If a “conservative” claims to be conservative on other issues but then supports mass immigration, then all his other conservative stands mean utterly nothing because the demographic change will soon overwhelm the democratic process, turning the USA into another Venezuela. That’s what Rick Scott wants.

It’s also why I’m unimpressed with the defense that “at least Rick Scott has run a business”, that depends on the kind of business he has run and what he’s actually done. Most of us in business in Florida have to work hard and run an actual business where we don’t depend on government contracts and support. Rick Scott is the opposite of a true businessman, he’s a crony capitalist just like the anti-American traitors who run the Chamber of Commerce and push for amnesty and the h1b visa, and thus no friend of the people. Scott’s “business” basically depended on massive taxpayer supported subsides and payments through Medicare and other government programs that Scott got favored access to. And it shows, because Scott’s actual policies in Florida have hardly been business-friendly, esp. to small and medium businesses that are the true backbone of Florida’s economy. If he tried to work in import-export or other businesses where we have to depend on our actual performance in the free market, not on government programs or subsides, Rick Scott would get eaten alive. He has not idea how to run a real business, and that’s probably part of why, just like other RINOs, he has no understanding of the importance of loyalty, commitment and being true to the conservative base.

I almost think we’re being trolled here...with people (indirectly) calling for the re-election of a Senator who is HOSTILE to Trump on every single issue.

Hell, I’ll take Susan Collins down there, if it means flipping the seat.

Who cares, if he wins the Senate seat he’ll be fine.

Lighten up, Francis.

He is a stick-finger-in-air-see-which-way-wind-is-blowing POS.

I was ONLY going to vote for him to help DJT. But if he is going to go all “McCain” on DJT and us, he can shove it you know where. at least the even more disgusting Nelson wants to get mj into the hands of ill and suffering Floridians.

POS.

Most of the country is moving to the Right and my governor is making a break for the cliff edge on the left.

It’s doubtful Scott would be on board with Trump’s judicial picks either, Senators in a given region usually help to recommend judges from the bar as part of the advise and consent, and with Scott’s sloppy stands on amnesty and gun rights, it’s likely be’d be the type to recommend a David Souter, just like “trusted” Republicans did for George HW Bush. The problem with a RINO traitor like Scott is that if he got into office, it would be difficult to replace him in the primary because of the nature and size of Senate races and the incumbents. At worst Nelson would be easy to beat in a future Senate race by a true conservative, but the reason for bringing this up now is we don’t have to wait until a “future race”. The Florida primary hasn’t happened yet, and many of the best conservative candidates have been elected after a late surge in the primaries even after the establishment GOPe RINO seemed like a lock. Florida has plenty of conservatives who would not only be true to the cause in replacing Scott, but also do a better job of rallying the base. I have solid conservative friends and relatives in Florida, and if Scott’s on the ticket, they stay home.

He is a young McCain, for sure. He’ll join the “Romney Caucus”, just watch.

I’m thinking it may well better to keep Nelson this time ‘round, and find a REAL conservative to vote for next time.

I knew Scott was trash when he supported new gun control in Florida.

Florida: elect this man to the Senate at your own peril. He is a younger John McCain, and we will not be rid of him for decades.

Whoa...planned on supporting him, but need to do further research . Not sounding good.

That’s what I’m seeing here too, an even better analogy for Rick Scott than Marco Rubio is Mitt Romney, a bribed and bought and sold RINO jerk who likes to dress up his treason to the conservative movement by pretending to be “independent” of Trump and the MAGA movement. Scott would be a guaranteed vote for a DACA amnesty and the h1b visa just like Romney, and not even because of principles but due to having to lick the boots of the Chamber of Commerce and the cheap labor lobby funding his political career. He’s already a sell-out, the last thing that Trump or the people of Florida needs.

Yep, Rick Scott is the sort of swamp monster that Trump, Bannon and the MAGA movement were sent to Washington to drain out. He’s a Mitt Romney-Paul Ryan imitator out of the sunshine state.
