Trump beats promise to cut new refugees, down 66% from Obama

The Trump administration beat the president’s goal of trimming new refugee admissions from the 100,000 brought in by former President Obama, slashing the population by 66 percent.

In fact, for the first time, the U.S. resettled fewer refugees than the rest of the world, but still more than another other country.

New data from the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees showed that the U.S. took in 33,000 refugees last year, down from 97,000 under Obama, who had pushed to raise the ceiling to 110,000.

President Trump vowed to reverse that flow, raising concerns that refugees were not being vetted well by the United Nations. He pushed to cut refugees to 45,000 a year.

Refugees should be housed as near as possible to the conflict zone, so as soon as the jihadis are expelled they can return to their homes and businesses.

Move them several countries away, and the likelihood they will ever return home drops to near zero.

Keep it up. Going in the right direction. Frankly, we shouldn’t let any more in until we rout out those who have committed crimes including staying past their visa dates.

I love you, Mr. President, but let’s aim for 45 instead.

That is huge progress compared to the disaster under the traitor, but it's still 33,000 away from the number of invaders we should be allowing in. I hope to see more progress as the President of the United States consolidates the power that he derives from the consent of the American people.

Thank God that He moved Donald Trump to run for President.

I believe Divine Providence has given US one last chance to save our country.

Bush League Republicans have been colluding with Democrats to flood our country with foreigners to steal it from the citizens since Reagan left office.

President Trump (I will NEVER get tired of saying that) is the best President of my lifetime. That includes President Reagan.

“...the U.S. resettled fewer refugees than the rest of the world, but still more than another other country.”

Sorry I can’t even make sense of that. But some here will argue that everything is grammatically correct.
