James Woods has been dropped by his talent agent, and received the announcement in an email sent during the Fourth of July holiday.

The Oscar-nominated actor shared a screenshot of the email with the subject line “Well…” on his personal Twitter account.

The talent agent, Ken Kaplan, said that he’d come to the decision to no longer represent the outspoken conservative star because he was “feeling patriotic.”

“It’s the 4th of July and I’m feeling patriotic,” Kaplan wrote. “I don’t want to represent you anymore. I mean I can go on a rant but you know what I’d say.”

So I guess that makes her perfectly UNFUNNY.

It’s not like his agent was getting him gigs anyway.

Liberals make for lousy business partners.

James Wood should write a book. It would be a best seller.

“BlackListing” has a long history in the entertainment industry going back to ancient times when getting “Blacklisted” would get you killed at the hands of the offended government.

Maybe we should boycott all of Kaplan’s other clients, since they are obviously like Kaplan.

I am not boycotting anyone. I just watch the actors that I like and James Woods is definitely one of them.

Its a free country, ain’t it? (formerly a rhetorical question, not so much now)

Seems to me, James plays poker now for a living (or at least as a hobby) rather than acting in films. No one has a blacker heart than a Hollywood agent.

The acting roles dried up. I'm sure politics had much to do with it but at 71, he also isn't really a "leading man" anymore.

He doesn't need the work. In addition to his leisurely pursuits playing poker, he also claims to have invested in Apple.

His net worth is estimated at around $20 million.

To those not following James Woods on Twitter, they're missing out. His tweets are legendary.

He also likes cool cars. He’s well out of the nuttiness of working in Hollywood. My brother retired from it about 3 years ago and is much happier not working with those people.

With the exception of Simmons, those ain't what I'd call A-listers.

Drew Carey and Jamie Foxx certainly are. Foxx won an Oscar for Ray, which was an excellent film. Drew Carey, a former U.S. Marine, has headlined a string of television series, continuously for 23 years. And Dave Chapelle is very funny and very well known.

I was thinking the same thing: Drunk e-mailing on a holiday, yeah, that’ll end well.

It’s probably fortunate for Woods that the guy wrote that. I can’t imagine that someone like that would have actually been trying to find Woods jobs. He’s probably been undermining Woods for years.
