The constitution won’t allow it. They’re wasting their time.
I don’t care if they split the place into 3 as long as they take at least two of the chunks (and all the people in them) out of the USA as soon as possible.
Speaking as one who lives in the Seattle area, I don’t relish the thought of four more Senators from the west coast. The ones we have presently are the human equivalent of gangrene.
Kamila Harris and Dianne Feinstein x 3. Ugh! Crazy Ugly women apocalypse!
Split into TWO would produce two R senators and neutralize the two leftists.
What’s unconstitutional about it?
I’m not arguing, I just don’t know.
The commie left has so arranged it, that each of the three new “California’s” will still be controlled by them, i.e., by the big cities.
New States may be admitted by the Congress into this Union; but no new States shall be formed or erected within the Jurisdiction of any other State; nor any State be formed by the Junction of two or more States, or parts of States, without the Consent of the Legislatures of the States concerned as well as of the Congress.
Three states as purposed is a horrible idea.
Hannity click bait.
“Gaining steam” in no way means it will garner a majority come November when the voters decide. Most people in California are political sheeple and wonder to what benefit is it to them.
Frankly I have diagnosed the county-by-county rearrangement amd see no great advantage to Conservatives. A possibility maybe in the new “Southern California, but with the cost of most likely two Lib U.S. Senators each for the new “California” and “Northern California”.
This division looks calculated to give the Democrats four more senators.
. .our Federal Legislature could not agree on whether it’s daylight or dark much less cutting up California into 3 lots.
So, even discussing this subject is laughable.
Negatory!
they can split their ruined state into 33 pieces for all I care. Congress retains authority to admit or NOT admit new states... and it ain’t gonna happen...(note that putting such a measure on the ballot does NOTHING since it is the state’s Legislature... not voters... AND CONGRESS that decide. Putting the proposal on the ballot is a giant political CIRCUS....which, come to think of it, pretty well summarizes the once-golden state of Californication nowadays anyway, ha!)
Constitution of the USA:
“New States may be admitted by the Congress into this Union; but no new States shall be formed or erected within the Jurisdiction of any other State; nor any State be formed by the Junction of two or more States, or Parts of States, without the Consent of the Legislatures of the States concerned as well as of the Congress.
Article IV, Section 3, Clause 1
I would guess that half of Calif. doesn’t want to be associated with any of those 3 cities.
There is the problem: all Calif urban areas are liberal, so all three would end up keeping the states uber-leftist.
No change from what is now, so why bother? Jefferson is the only way that makes some sense.
If Congress signs off on this, its constitutional.
