Hard to believe John would do the right thing and leave so we’re not down a man during the confirmation.
Easy to believe Ducey would be a douche and appoint Cindy.
Easy to believe it’s all bull since the 4th has come and gone.
We do want to confirm a Justice now cause you never know what could happen in an election. But having it be an issue in the election is definitely in OUR benefit not the rats. It puts immense pressure on the likes of Manchin and Donnelly.
Trump called in Heitcamp and Donnelly (and I think one other D, thought I don’t know if it’s Manchin) for discussions. I think it went something like this:
“Joe/Heidi/Joe, if you vote for my USSC pick, I promise not to personally campaign against you this season.”
Now, several of these Ds voted for Kavanaugh, Kethledge, and Thapar for their current positions. I think Barrett got the fewest D crossovers.
Well, as my source told me, this was fake. Someone close to both McTurd and Doug Ducey said it wasn’t being considered.
And the only “resignation” McTurd will have is when the monitor flatlines.
If we don’t get a confirmation vote before the election, Manchin, et al. will lie about how they will vote to confirm a conservative nominee, and then (win or lose) vote against them because they’d be either lame ducks or their seats will not be up for another six years. We need to get the confirmation vote now, get that seat in our column, and the Blue Frauds will get to pick their poison as to whether to vote for or against the nominee; and conservatives still will be extremely motivated to vote on the judges issue because (i) our side will have delivered on a promise, proving that voting matters and that there are differences between the parties and (ii) Ginsburg is 83 and Breyer is about to turn 80 so there likely will be SCOTUS confirmation battles to come over the next six years.
While iti is true that liberals also will be motivated to vote, there are fewer liberals than conservatives in every single competitive Senate seat up in 2018 (unless one considers NJ competitive). Confirming a conservative Justice will help us increase our majority in the Senate.

If McCain dies or resigns prior to the August 28 primary (in which Ducey faces a second-tier opponent), it would be suicidal for Ducey to appoint Cindy McCain to the seat. I think that Ducey knows that, and while he’ll continue to make nice with the McCains, he’ll use the upcoming SCOTUS confirmation vote as a reason to appoint someone who could be in DC full time concentrating on Senate business (and not dealing with a dying or recently deceased husband).
So who should Ducey appoint? As I wrote late last year, I think that he should name Congressman Paul Gosar of AZ-04 to the Senate. Gosar is a solid conservative who has represented all of northern AZ in the House, since he was elected in 2010 (over then incumbent Democrat Ann Kilpatrick) in the old AZ-01 in NE AZ, and in 2012 was redistricted into the AZ-04, which is in NW AZ and goes into the Phoenix suburbs. Not only would Gosar be a formidable candidate as a Senate incumbent in a 2020 special election, his appointment would allow Kelli Ward (who represented a large part of AZ-04 in the state senate) to coast into the very conservative AZ-04 in the special election held in the summer. We then would have McSally (who is well ahead of Ward in primary polls, and who would have a better chance than her against Democrat Sinema in a difficult election) as our 2018 Senate candidate, and Ward can hone her skills and prove her conservative bona fides in the House from a safe GOP district. Win-win-win for us, in my book.
I don’t think he should do those turds any favors, we need those seats. And there dilemma exists whether he campaigns against them or not.
Stan Greene, the writer, is a fake news liar.......McCain is still there.
How the heck do you contact this guy, I could find no email address for the liar.
Resignation. We’re waiting.
