In all the years that abortion was illegal in the United States only two women were ever prosecuted for having an abortion. And if memory serves neither was convicted.

The law regarded women as being victims of abortion (obviously those lawmakers never met the Pink Pussy Hat brigade). So only abortionists were prosecuted. I don’t know why those two women were charged, but they were the rare exception.

Now if we could change the law so that Meathead Reiner could be executed for being an obnoxious ass I’d be for that. But sadly, that won’t happen any more than executing women will happen.

Women are not victims of the abortions that they procure.

Exactly. These people act like illegal abortion is the most far-fetched, draconian concept imaginable. They conveniently ignore the fact that from colonial times until 1973, abortion was illegal in some or all of what is or would become the United States. Why are all these nutcases conjuring up dystopian fantasies about ‘Gilead’? Why don’t they simply say they don’t want to live in a horrific, totalitarian society... like, say, California circa 1965?
