Kill a child one minute before birth— no crime, no problem. Kill the same child one minute after birth — it’s murder. Go figure.
unless you kill a child in the womb by attacking a mother that intends to bring the child to term (i.e. a “wanted pregnancy). If during the commission of an assault/battery/whatever crime, a person causes an unborn child to be killed, they are charged with murder of said unborn child.
The only distinction is a “service requested” for an abortion. That is the twisted logic that defines murder in this parlance.
