It will be nice to have one woman in the majority when the Supreme Court finally overturns Roe v. Wade.

Yep. His whole organization is Never Trump, other than some mild pretend by Lowry. (And two good contributors in VDH and AM.)
They are essentially a neocon oswamp organization that uses a pro-life position as a traditional conservative fig leaf.
(Originally CIA funded, and I don’t know what the current connection is.)
I love the rallys. He’s amazing. He’s so hubble and polite. He remembers everyone’s name. He makes people feel special. It’s always “we” and “us” and “our” when he talks. And he knows what he needs to do. He’s confident, and that makes us confident.
He’s a fighter, yes, but like he said last night in Fargo, “We’re all fighters.”
And in all probability, that would be a guy. Please, support who you want and leave me to support who I want without all this chat.
Sadly there is some truth to what Fox apparently has been saying.
Presuming he is compromised, how would that be dealt with ethically and constitutionally?
What I like is how funny he is. He’s always been funny in that working-class New York way which is heavily influenced by the Jewish culture of the city.
He’s funnier than the night show hosts, and he says so. They’re pathetic. He said the other night, “If I couldn’t laugh at myself, I’d be in bad shape.” He says, “Anyone running for political office shouldn’t wear a toupee.” He triple downs on the tweets on Maxine and Pelosi. Last night says, “Please, please, Paaaaaleeeeeeeeze, Democrats please don’t replace Nancy Pelosi as your leader.”
If the best qualified candidate is female or minority, fine. If not and you pick one to make a political point, you wind up with embarrassing non-entities like Nimrata Haley or Mike Steele.
Exactly! How did conservatives get here?
I feel like quoting from Inherit the Wind but that might annoy you after all these years, lol.
Oh, the toupee joke! I loved it. All the jokes about his hair and hands - has me in stitches. I also love his NYisms “Oh, you’re a beaut!” “Geez!” and assorted Yiddishisms.
I like Barrett, my only misgiving is that it seems to be easier to sway women judges with emotional pitches than men, a la Sandra Day O’Connor, who looked as good going in as Barrett does. But then again, we have seen people like Warren Burger, Blackmun, Stephens, Kennedy, enjoy the praise from the NY Times by turning more liberal once on the court, so you never know. All you can do is look at their background and try to figure out if they are the kind that will wilt from the pressure of a case that the left is pushing all the hot buttons on, like gay marriage, or abortion or gun rights. And then it’s a crap shoot.
He has a lot of them like lately, “The gigs up.”
Name a female Supreme justice who has been a solid consistent originalist. They end up going with their feelings or some form of great grandma’s homespun folk wisdom. Or they’re just feminist politically correct.
It didn't take Trump's Presidency for most people to realize that. I knew W. would be bad news when he ran as a "compassionate conservative," but I didn't know just how bad he was going to be. Not only did he refuse to fight the liberal agenda, he rarely missed a chance to aid and abet it - working with Barney Frank on TARP, expanding Medicaid, pushing an immigration to the Left of Bill Clinton's (remember, "family values don't stop at the Rio Grande"), dumping billions of tax dollars in aid to African countries that would steal and squander it, peddling "Democracy" and nation-building in the Middle East, etc.
Got it! :-)
I think he grew up watching the same local tv shows and movies (WOR and WPIX) my brother and I watched.
Ramesh Ponnuru wrote the article. It’s not the Bloomberg party line.
NO! Too many women now!

I concur.
Looks nice on paper, not so nice in reality.
