“Seen it described as a Democratic Cantor-ing.”

Ha! Wouldn’t that be a festival of joy?

People are missing what really happened to Crowley. Look at the demographics of the NY District 14:

Ethnicity

18.41% White

11.39% Black

16.24% Asian

49.80% Hispanic

0.45% Native American

3.71% other

Minorities want members of their own tribe to represent them. The thin veneer of white liberals in growing minority districts will be destroyed. And even Maxine Waters district is two-thirds Hispanic. Rangel lost because of the changes in his district.

Remember what happened to Stephen Solarz? Velázquez ran for Congress in the 1992 election, seeking a seat in the New York’s newly-drawn 12th congressional district, which was drawn as a majority-Hispanic district. Velázquez won the Democratic primary, defeating nine-term incumbent Stephen J. Solarz and four Hispanic candidates
