This could be his mcacaca moment!

Why does anyone in a public forum running for office allow themselves to get trapped into these “no win” comment situations. If someone asks me question about the civil war, my answer is “I am running for office in 2018 not in 1860s! “ Then change the subject and refuse to be baited into such a discussion.

Even on FR Civil War discussions degenerate into “How many Billy Yanks & Johnny Rebs can dance on the head of a pin?”

Just not worth the bandwidth!

The issue of state’s right is of primary importance and core foundational piece of our republic. It’s worth every bit of bandwidth. Don’t like the discussion? Then leave.

Good answer. Not only isn't it the 1860s, it's also not the 1960s. To get elected in Virginia, you have to win votes from people whose families weren't living in the state in 1860, or even in 1960.

Hint to Corey: nobody who doesn't support you now is going to decide to vote for you based on talk like this, but some who are undecided will decide not to vote for you because of what you said.
