The reader is supposed to understand the fact the FBI was spying on the Trump campaign prior to the issuance of an EC means they were doing it illegally without even the flimsiest illusion of a premise.
The story is published as it’s that important.
WHY IS THIS ‘CLASSIFIED’?
Try this interpretation of the journalistic language:
Fox has seen an unclassified Letter #1 the FBI/DoJ sent to Nunes. That letter tells Nunes they sent a classified Letter #2 (to _________?) about whether the FBI utilized “confidential human sources”...
Paraphrasing etcb’s comment: Letter #2 wouldn’t be classified if the answer was “no”.
I expect it’s “yes” buried under 25 pages of special pleading, then blacked out spaces for the names of the spies.

Yea, those secret informants were probably foreigners which means the FBI colluded with Brits, Spanish, Ruskies and others to spy on Trump! I bet the FBI could ask their counterparts in those countries what they got from the Hillary Server, don’t ja think!

The deep state/dems used every tool at their disposal to spy on Trump and his campaign/transition team. It is obvious that they were all in on this. They new every move the campaign was going to make and then sent it on to the Hillary campaign. Another reason they thought she could not lose. This was Hillary’s last opportunity. She was taking no chances. She did not count on the vast number of deplorables coming out of the woods and voting for Trump. It overwhelmed their voter fraud campaign.

This is rather tiring. Everyone in the government works for the people and we have a right to know what is happening! Yes I believe in the tooth fairy too!

That's one of the joys of getting old. You can screw everything up, and blame it on old age.
They are going to ague that the “spies” shouldn’t be outed because 1) they acted in good faith (i.e., the scoundrels at FBI and/or CIA HQ told them the Russian spy threat was real), and 2) it would chill the ability to recruit other spies in the future (what a shame).
Strzok and others will pretend they really, really believed that Russians were trying to penetrate the Trump campaign via the third string players he was forced to use in his campaign when no virtuous establishment types would work for him. It was all to protect naïve, inexperienced Trump from himself, since he would only hurt the US if elected. The voters are ignorant and can’t be trusted.
This narrative will be aired by all the usual leftist media, and morons will fail to remember that the instigating “evidence” was all concocted by the Dems’ candidate in collusion with the DoJ. Total corruption.
