We homeschooled. Grown kids that are solid conservatives. Only way to be sure is to be with the kids more than the teachers are, and that made it an easy choice but it was a lot of extra effort. All worth it.
Yes, we homeschooled our youngest, and I think it did make a difference (see post 43).
We have two older children who were not homeschooled, and the oldest is moderate/left and the middle is basically pro-communism. It hurts to say that.
I fully believe that thats about the only way to not lose your kids to the left now. If they go to public school and most colleges, even many Christian ones these days, they will be made to conform, one way or another. The conformity is always to the left, to one degree or another.
“Only way to be sure is to be with the kids more than the teachers are,”
True. I saw this as a problem in our tea party group...so many had liberal children. I thought it odd since all four of mine are Conservatives as adults. Two, when young, argued with their elementary teachers about global warming. My 11 year old ran home excited to tell me about the new Rush Limbaugh show.
I think what was key is we talked politics even when the kids were very young. My Dad was the same way with me and my siblings....all Conservative.
Teach them early, don’t try to protect them from bad news. Don’t send them to liberal colleges.
