Did you see how the Supreme Court Justices voted? The conservatives on the court voted for it! Granted I am against taxes most of the time.

However, small businesses have been wiped out by main street. Why? Because people were avoiding sales taxes by making purchases online to avoid the sales tax.

So this promotes more competition vs destroying competition. It creates a more level playing field for small and medium size businesses that have been getting wiped out on main street. More competition is better for everyone and capitalism vs. monopolies that bring cronyism, socialism and ultimately communism. This is why the conservative justices were for it. Granted I do not like sales taxes. I would prefer a world with no sales tax.

For the record, if you made any purchase on line from any large business such as Amazon, Apple, Microsoft, Google, Walmart, Best Buy, etc... They have been charging sales taxes for a while now.

Yes it will certainly hurt small businesses online.

I did see that. My definition of conservatism is following the Constitution and allowing each empowered branch to do it's function. That didn't happen here since Congress has the sole responsibility for interstate commerce regulation. Congress has chosen to take no action. And, no action is... no action.

Of late, I've found myself out of step with the new definition of conservative which these days seems to be a vague sort of ends justifies the means tool to restore "fairness", whatever that is.

I no longer have any faith that any elected or appointed government official is interested in limited constitutional government.
