Flake threatens to limit Trump court nominees: report
The Hill ^ | 06/20/18 | Brett Samuels

Sen. Jeff Flake (R-Ariz.) is reportedly considering using votes on President Trump’s appellate court nominees as a bargaining chip for demands on two separate issues.

CNN reported that Flake may block votes on the court nominations while he attempts to secure action on tariffs and travel restrictions to Cuba.

“We’re discussing it,” he told the network.

Flake is a member of the Senate Judiciary Committee, where Republicans hold a one-seat advantage over Democrats.

If Flake does not support the appellate nominees, it could compromise their nominations. Most judges are voted out of the committee along party lines.

However, Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) told CNN that he will not schedule votes on the judges until Flake has indicated he’ll support the nominees.

Grassley added that the Senate nominations calendar is full, and he does not feel pressured to vote on judges at this time.

The deep state makes false charges on it’s “enemies” and arrests them. I’m sure something illegal could be found on Flake’s computer. Then announce that others’ computers will be checked in the future. It’s time play as dirty as they do.

Thank God we won’t have to deal with this flake for much longer. Hopefully we can get an actual Republican in his seat.

Grassley can send the nomination to the floor of the senate without voting it out of committee. Of course, Flake can then vote against the individual on the floor which may sink the nomination. Flake is really a POS, just like his brother AZ senator, McCain.

Something Flake will never threaten to do is act as Republican would.

Flake should do the country a huge favor and end himself ASAP.

In a perfect world that's exactly what would happen but I would settle for him simply stepping down and resigning his senate seat so a real conservative can (hopefully) fill the slot.

"What is wrong with the lunatics who keep voting for them? Fools."

Arizona has open primaries. The Democrats help pick the Republican nominee.

“Kick him from committees.

Sorry, his committee assignment has been bought and paid for. GOP representatives and senators buy their committee seats by raising specified sums for the RNC.

http://www.breitbart.com/big-government/2013/10/21/congress-charges-secret-fee-to-land-top-committee-spots/

Flake is a puppet. To find out who his pulling his strings, and paying for his committee assignment, follow the money. A good first step is looking at his campaign donor base - https://www.opensecrets.org/members-of-congress/summary?cid=N00009573&cycle=2018

Don’t forget members of Congress are allowed to keep their campaign funds, for personal use, when they leave office. Flake currently has over $1.2 million in his campaign account. In addition members of Congress are permitted to trade on insider information. Given that the Securities and Investment industry is a huge contributor to Flake’s political treasure chest, he likely has many lucrative insider investment opportunities for his cash.

It pays well to be a swamp creature.

However, Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) told CNN that he will not schedule votes on the judges until Flake has indicated he’ll support the nominees.

So he's working with Flake on this. He wouldn't have any problems sending judges to the Senate if Democrats opposed them.
