Sen. Jeff Flake (R-Ariz.) is reportedly considering using votes on President Trumps appellate court nominees as a bargaining chip for demands on two separate issues.
CNN reported that Flake may block votes on the court nominations while he attempts to secure action on tariffs and travel restrictions to Cuba.
Were discussing it, he told the network.
Flake is a member of the Senate Judiciary Committee, where Republicans hold a one-seat advantage over Democrats.
If Flake does not support the appellate nominees, it could compromise their nominations. Most judges are voted out of the committee along party lines.
However, Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) told CNN that he will not schedule votes on the judges until Flake has indicated hell support the nominees.
Grassley added that the Senate nominations calendar is full, and he does not feel pressured to vote on judges at this time.

Repeal the 17th.
WTH does Cuba have to do with what’s good for the citizens of Arizona?
Then Flake would just retaliate by pulling a Jumpin’ Jim Jeffords...
Why put a clown like Flake on an important committee to begin with?
what a pity
He must be channeling McLame.
Amen!
Flake is a one-term guy who ran as a Tea Party conservative. Had a decent record in the House, IIRC. Not running again because he was polling at 15% in the GOP primary.
The someone who owns Flake is calling in their chips. No more complicated than that.
What’s depressing is that this rolling obstruction of Trump, on so many levels, day after day is no accident. I’m becoming a damn conspiracy theorist with good cause.
STFU we need Election Reform. McCain and flake or despise by the electorate and somehow they still seem to get elected. I dont think so.
That would be because hes a piece of shit
I want to say something about Flake and his ..ahem...future but I wont.

Well... I guess he knows not to go into the Dog sitting business; his family has not had much success in that line. ;-)
And those two can do their OWN stunts!
Waste of a good ragtop.
Oh, please. He isn’t King, yet.
I suspect their success in pushing immigration will correlate with how 'heavy' the briefcase they receive after they leave office.
They rate a Yugo.
Immigration replacement is what the uniparty is all about. It’s the only way to bury us & our vote.
He’s been well bought and paid for.
