We did the same a few years back. I THINK that Whirlpool, Maytag, Kitchenaid, Amana(all the same company) are still made in Iowa. GE were all made in Mexico. Bosch made in Germany. Samsung & LG were made in South Korea. Fisher/Paykel(sp?) were made in New Zeeland.

We ended up buying a KitchenAid dishwasher and a Kenmore(Whirlpool) French door fridge.

Mainly in Mexico now. Bought out by a large equity firm, and pulled out. They brought some back after people started demanding quality.
