A federal court on Friday again said the Trump administration cannot implement its ban on most transgender military service while a lawsuit against it proceeds.
The status quo shall remain steady as she goes, and the preliminary injunction shall remain in full force and effect nationwide, Judge Marsha Pechman of the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Washington wrote Friday.
In doing so, Pechman quoted the top Navy admiral, who told a Senate panel in April that its been steady as she goes since transgender people have been allowed to serve openly.
Pechman is one of four federal judges to have issued a preliminary injunction preventing President Trump from banning transgender military service while lawsuits against the ban work their way through court.
In April, Pechman ruled the lawsuit would go to trial and the injunction would stay in place after the Pentagon issued a memo outlining a policy that would ban most transgender people from serving. In that ruling, Pechman said the memo did not represent a new policy, but rather an implementation of the ban Trump announced on Twitter in July 2017.
The Trump administration appealed Pechmans April ruling and then asked her for a stay on her injunction pending the appeal. The administration argued a stay was necessary to prevent irreparable harm to military interests.
Pechmans ruling on Friday goes against the administration's request for a stay.

When is the Commander in Chief of the United States military going to say the word “unconstitutional?”
I love the guy but this BS is crazy.
Seriously? I am only here to watch the wheels.go round and round.. Thank you Jesus for opening my eyes, I KNOW Without the word of God as an anchor anything goes in peoples lives.
I may well be total ignoramus in asking this, but since when have civilian judges had this much authority to meddle in military matters?
Roger that.
Does this court even have jurisdiction over the matter.
Our armed forces are not just another employer.
Trump is Commander in Chief. He can dismiss individually anybody in the armed Forces for any reason or no reason at all. He merely has to be given a list and order their immediate discharge. This nonsense with activist judges has to stop.
Not only are most judges enemies of the people, but women judges are the worst. There ought to have been a law preventing that.
Steady as SHE goes? Or is she a he? Solipsism is a failed philosophy but so many people are now solipsists in practice.
Judge lacks authority over military
One federal judge on the edge of the Pacific in far left Washington has more authority over the military then the Commander in Chief?
Since when?
If he launched an attack on North Korea tomorrow because he decided that a nuclear war was imminent, would she insist she has the right to overrule him?
Beyond absurd.
tell the fag loving judge to pound sandbut he will love that
Time for the CIC to show the courts who is boss of the military.
YES . . . and our military leaders would obey her.
This judge is too cute for words.
Like the travel ban Trump ceded executive power to the Judiciary the moment he appealed an outrageous Judges intervention to a another Judge so now military and immigration matters are subject to renegade Judges . Nice
I’m going to need $50 if you’re going to use $50 words.
;)
Ignore the judge. She has no jurisdiction over the military and serving is not a civil right, and trannys aren’t protected under US Civil rights law.
Ignore these Obama plants and tell them to sue you or send their armies to enforce their rulings. The military is crippled by stupid, destructive left wing social engineering and its own Obama plants. Get rid of them Mr President.
I’m all for this battle. Let the nation know where the lines are drawn and sort out how to respond once they are settled.
The idea of “transgender” is purposely impossible to nail down in a meaningful way. Can a male soldier decide on the morning of a PT test that he is a woman and be graded on the female scale, then decide later that day he/she was mistaken and suffer no repercussions? That is exactly what the judge here is endorsing.
